Story Outline:

FROM THE TIME THEY
are tiny seedlings, Noah nurtures his trees, all the while imagining their future with his sons. "Japheth will make a flute out of the fruit trees. With his baby he'll watch the trees fill with birds." In the end though, God has another purpose in mind.

NOAH'S TREES IS the moving story of a man's love for God, his children, his trees, and his world. To read it is to meet Noah for the first time.

Travel Sketches:

Not too long ago, I made a trip to Ireland with the purpose of working on my new book about Noah.
The old
trees of Ireland became the backdrop of Noah's Trees, but the true inspiration came from an unexpected source: a small jack russel terrier. On a peat farm, I found Miss Rosie, who became Noah and my friend. I came home with beautiful images of Ireland and a new addition to my home: Miss Rosie.

Praises about
Noah's Trees:

"The simple story and its bold, beautiful artwork may well make this a favorite book.."
--The Christian Science Monitor; Fall 1999

"Most Noah books are about animals; this one is about trees, and it also emphasizes God's trust in Noah and makes the old story of the flood feel like something new."
--Religion & Ethics News Weekly: PBS; Winter 1999

"A welcome addition to public libraries and religious school..."
-- ALA Booklist; Fall 1999

"This simple book about the environmental stewardship and renewal retains the spirit of the traditional Old Testament story....
Le Tord's soft paintings are almost impressionistic in their depiction of a biblical world."

-- The Horn Book; Fall 1999

"Joyously tells the story..."
-- Publishers Weekly; Fall 1999
